ABOUT THE TEXAS A&M LETTERMEN'S ASSOCIATION

The Texas A&M Lettermen's Association is an independent, member-based 501(c)(7) fraternal organization and an Affiliated Support Organization of Texas A&M University. Founded in 1974 by 180 former student-athletes, the Association was created to build a lifelong community of Aggie Lettermen and to preserve the traditions and excellence of Aggie Athletics.

In 1972, Title IX laid the groundwork for gender equity in collegiate sports. By 1974, Texas A&M began sponsoring women's athletics, and less than a decade later, our organization proudly opened its doors to female letterwinners in 1983. Originally formed as an extension of the male-only T-Association, we now celebrate a rich and inclusive history that spans more than 80 class years and every intercollegiate sport supported by Aggie Athletics.

The organization plays a vital role in celebrating the legacy of Aggie Athletics. From selecting and presenting the Texas A&M Athletic Hall of Fame, Hall of Honor, and Lettermen’s Lifetime Achievement Award to preserving the traditions that define the Aggie experience, we honor the past while building community among generations of letterwinners. These prestigious awards are presented each year at the annual Burgess Banquet—hosted by the Lettermen’s Association—and are especially meaningful because honorees are chosen by their peers: fellow Texas A&M letterwinners.

In addition to honoring former student-athletes, the Lettermen’s Association also contributes to celebrating current student-athletes through initiatives such as funding fourth-year letter awards and co-sponsoring the biannual Graduation Celebration.

A crowning achievement in our history is the Jackie Sherrill Lettermen's Club located at the northeast side of Kyle Field. This premier facility honors former athletes and serves as a vibrant gathering space for fellowship on game days, reunions, and at special events.

With strong leadership, loyal members, a healthy endowment, and a shared commitment to Texas A&M, the Lettermen's Association continues to honor the past, engage the present, and support the future.

MISSION

The mission of the Texas A&M Lettermen's Association is to provide opportunities for Aggie letterwinners and coaches to connect with each other and the Athletic Department through reunions and other fellowship events, annually recognize their past extraordinary achievements at the Burgess Banquet, and to participate in the support of current student-athletes and the Athletic Department.

VISION

The Texas A&M Lettermen's Association strives to be a visionary homebase for former student-athletes, extending beyond College Station, Texas. The organization embodies a culture that continues to foster, bridge and fellowship former student-athletes from all sports, career paths and generations. It celebrates the achievements of letterwinners and inspires a culture of excellence. The organization seeks to create early engagement opportunities with current student-athletes regarding the mission and purpose of the Lettermen's Association.
