Q: Who can join the Texas A&M Lettermen's Association?
A: Membership is available to individuals who earned a varsity letter at Texas A&M University, per the provisions in Article II of the organization's bylaws. These individuals are recognized as Members of the Association. To receive membership benefits & privileges, a Member must become an Active Member, meaning their annual or life dues are current and fully paid.
A Member who has not paid current dues remains in the database but is listed as an Inactive Member.
The Association also includes an Associate Membership class for approved individuals, as defined in Article II of our bylaws.
Q: How are Letterwinners verified?
A: All Letterwinners are verified through official internal records maintained by the Athletics Department.
Q: What's the difference between a Member, an Active Member, and an Associate Member?

Q: Can a Letterwinner's spouse or family keep the membership after they pass away?
A: In most cases, no, but the surviving spouse has two options:
Memberships cannot be transferred or inherited by children or other family members.
Q: Can an Associate Member's spouse or children continue the membership after the member's passing?
A: No. Under Article II of the bylaws, Associate and Associate Life Memberships are non-transferable and terminate upon the Associate Member's death.
This eligibility does not extend to the surviving spouses or descendants of Associate Members.
Q: Are Life Membership dues refundable?
A: No. In accordance with the Association's Investment Policy, all Life Membership contributions are deposited into a restricted investment fund and are permanently designated to support the long-term mission and operations of the Association. Because these funds are restricted and invested for perpetuity, Life Memberships are non-refundable under Association policy and fiduciary standards.
Q: When does my annual membership start and end?
A: Our membership cycle runs on a calendar year January 1 through December 31. If you pay annual dues anytime during the year, your benefits are active through December 31 of that same year. We send renewal reminders each January so you can easily stay current for the next calendar year.
